Interactive Media: Interactive Art, “Walking on Eggshells” DRAFT

This interactive art piece takes inspiration from the phrase, “walking on eggshells”. the players interaction will be moving a character around a giant, planet-like egg, and as the player moves, circuit board cracks begin to fill up the egg. Finally, the egg can not take more cracks, and shatters, bringing the character falling onto another forming egg. the interaction is meant to be cyclic, and even if the player chooses not to move, the egg itself is alive, and adds to it’s own tension and breakdown.

the main challenges in coding this art piece would be figuring out the planetary/spherical orbit, along with a randomly generating zone of ‘cracked’ sprites. within that zone, there may be a counter in place to see how many cracks are on the egg at any time. If the counter  reaches a limit, the egg is shattered, and ‘spawns’ a new egg for the player to land on.
